HEMP Hardened Systems
EPI has extensive experience building back-up power systems. In 2002, EPI was contracted to build its first HEMP hardened power systems. Since then, EPI has continued to build a variety of HEMP hardened power systems and HEMP hardened structures. EPI can build these HEMP buildings in different ways:
Transportable – These structures are fully constructed in our shop in varying sizes to be fully transportable. This HEMP hardened structure was designed specifically to be transportable on a flat bed trailer.
Modular -The major construction components of these structures are built in our factory and then shipped to the site. On site the major pieces will be assembled together to form a HEMP hardened system. This HEMP system was shipped as 2 main components- 10′ X 12′ X 43′ structures and welded together in the field. Ceiling trusses and side walls where added as a weather shield and auxiliary room.
Pre-engineered – Materials can be cut to size and delivered ready to be assembled on site.
Full on-site construction – Most materials are likely bought on location and all construction aspects are preformed on site.
The more construction that can be accomplished at our factory the better the value delivered to the customer. This comes from three main causes:
- Availability of metal working machinery and tools
- Costs involved in travel to sites
- Delays in access to restricted sites where HEMP structures are normally deployed
